Course Overview

How do you get people to follow your lead? Our success depends upon our ability to influence others. Influence means knowing how to use the principles of human behaviour and communication to engage employees in serving our goals, by linking to their individual values. Leading and Managing People offers participants an opportunity to step free of the blind spots that automatically arise in fast-paced, get-it-done work situations. They will see how they affect their employees – positive and negatively – and gain practical tools and frameworks for leading them more effectively.

Target Audience

Managers at all levels are invited. It is the depth of their experience in managing people, rather than their organisational level, that determines the appropriateness of this course. Managers currently experiencing difficulties or executives who want to reassess their style and mode of influencing others will benefit from this course’s results-oriented structure.

Leading Organisational Change operates on the presumption that the most valuable tool in implementing change is an open mind. This course will challenge participant’s own methods of thinking about and executing change. They will examine the emotional and interpersonal dimensions involved in the process of change and learn to use non-traditional thinking.

Managers whose organisations have undergone corporate restructuring, or who anticipate such a change, will benefit from this course.

Modern performance management centres on ‘achieving results through other people’. As such, managing people is a very important part of making any organisation work well – achieving organisational goals is only possible if the leaders’ teams share their vision. The course looks in detail at specific examples from the participant’s workplace, assessing approaches to team management and examining new concepts to develop the performance of the team.

Target Audience

This course is designed for managers with at least 12 months team management experience and centres around enhancing existing management skills.

Course Overview

This course challenges managers to take personal responsibility and become effective leaders by acquiring the skills to effectively and efficiently direct the performance of subordinates and to counsel them. The course will cover strategies of staff development for all types of performers i.e. new employees; sub-standard performers; etc. It will also include strategies for orientating new employees when they embark on new roles or jobs. Participants will learn the Coaching Cycle for motivating employees to perform beyond their current level. This course is also designed to assist executives or managers to look at mentoring at work.

Target Audience

Ideal for executives and managers as the course is designed to assist them to acquire the skills to efficiently and effectively direct the performance of subordinates and to counsel them.
