Entry Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of: Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM); and relevantt working experience in the financial services industry.

IFP Challenge Status: Candidates who are eligible to apply and sit for Challenge Status Examination. They will skip IFP Module 1-5 and go direct to IFP Module 6. However, they must attend a 3-day preparatory course in Islamic Financial Planning Fundamentals (at KMDC, we offer one extra day, i.e. 4-Day Preparatory Course).

Candidates having the following professional credentials, academic qualifications and industry experience are eligible to apply for the IFP challenge status:

1. CFP, RFP and ChFC holder
2. Master or Doctorate degree holder in Islamic banking and finance
3. Full-time lecturer at University teaching business, accounting or finance subjects holding at least a Master degree
4. Bachelor degree holder in Islamic studies or from Islamic Universities with 5 years minimum working experience in the Islamic financial services industry
   
5. At least a Bachelor degree holder in any discipline with 15 years minimum working experience in the Islamic financial services industry

Additional requirements

If you are not a CFP holder, complete the relevant forms: FPAM Trade Member Application Form, KMDC Application Form and submit documents including duly certified certificates and academic transcripts, letter stating your working experience from present employer must be under the employer’s letterhead. For CFP holders only, when applying for IFP Challenge Status, you do not need to apply for IFP membership. Since you are already paying CFP membership to FPAM, you also do not have to pay any IFP membership fee until you are a fully certified IFP, from then onwards, you will pay RM150 per annum for your IFP membership.

Application for Challenge Status is open all year round but must be at least one month before the registration for any examination and must be submitted individually. Failure to comply will result in your application not being processed in time for your next examination.
